  • I would highly recommend this FBO to anyone looking to re-enter flying after being away for an extended time.

“An excellent place if you are interested in renting a plane. I got back into flying after eleven years, took my flight review from Kent Yarnell, and was thoroughly satisfied with both his thoroughness and professionalism. In addition to an excellent staff, the two 172s have state-of-the-art G1000 avionics and are well-maintained. They use an online scheduler, which really streamlines the process and is a great way to plan one's training. I would highly recommend this FBO to anyone looking to re-enter flying after being away for an extended time.”

  • It’s truly been a blessing that I chose Mach 1 as my flight school. I would recommend them to anyone.

“I can’t say enough great things about Mach 1 and their staff. Professional and friendly service is all they know how to offer and their flight line is the best on the field. Their facility alone makes it a pleasureable expereience [sic]. My instructor was extremely patient and knowledgeable about not only aviation and instructing, but the aircraft itself. The instructional quality is unprecedented. It’s truly been a blessing that I chose Mach 1 as my flight school. I would recommend them to anyone.”

  • My wings and license are not only backed by my hard work but also by all those at Mach 1 who sat in the right seat and taught me how to fly. I am lucky and privileged to be a part of the Mach 1 Aviation family

“Lately, all sectors of the aviation industry have been criticized for unfriendly customer service and outdated aircraft and systems. Fortunately, this stereotype is not every passenger or pilot’s reality; Mach 1 Aviation proves that businesses operating in the skies can actually be friendly. When I made the decision to go ahead and get my Private Pilot License, Mach 1 struck me as the perfect group to work with. It is important to understand that all flight schools offer the same foundation: a plane to train in. The Cirrus aircraft parked on the flight line certainly were an enticing foundation, but when making a flight school choice the decision came down to the people. Mach 1’s “secret sauce” is not so much a secret but rather a rarity in today’s world; above and below the wing they have a great team. Jason and the entire Mach 1 family helped me earn my license on budget and ahead of schedule- try getting that kind of service from a large, national flight school. Coming out of Private Pilot training and moving into my next chapter, Instrument Certification, I do not feel like a product fresh off a conveyor belt but rather a pilot who can wear his wings proudly. My wings and license are not only backed by my hard work but also by all those at Mach 1 who sat in the right seat and taught me how to fly. I am lucky and privileged to be a part of the Mach 1 Aviation family”

  • A very professional place is the simplest way for me to explain how my experience was. I will recommend Mach 1 to all my flying buddies.

“A very professional place is the simplest way for me to explain how my experience was. Located in the same building as signature west, it was a bit overwhelming having lots of professional pilots and lots of expensive jets all around you; nevertheless, it was still welcoming and friendly. Best hour or so training I had in a while from any flight instructor. Defiantly [sic] ask for Tony as an instructor, he is down to earth, safe, knowledgeable, and friendly. Prices could be a little more then they should be but considering the fact that airplanes are thousands of dollar aircraft, I didn’t mind it so much. As we all know, the four force acting in a plane is thrust ( Money), Drag (reality)..etc. I will recommend Mach 1 to all my flying buddies and more importantly a good review any where I can.”

  • Luxury, reliability, safety and most important, a lot of fun.

“When it was time to upgrade to glass cockpits and luxury aircraft, Mach 1 Aviation was my obvious choice. The cool thing about this operation is that it’s a boutique family run business located inside one of the most prestigious FBO chains in the country and on Van Nuys Airport which is one of the most busiest GA airports in the country. This combination gives you the best of both worlds, personalized customer service (they truly care about you) and world class FBO treatment along with awesome ramp personell [sic]. I got my private pilot’s license at Mach 1 in 2009 and I loved every second of the journey….yes, the Cirrus SR-20 is an expensive aircraft to train in, but you get what you pay for, luxury, reliability, safety and most important, a lot of fun. After all, this is a luxury business, you might as well go all out if you really want to train in a cool airplane. Over time, they’ve expanded and catered to a clientele that is looking for more affordable solutions, by providing a line of single engine Cessnas that range from under $100 to the mid buck fifty. Pretty good price for the latter since it comes with a glass cockpit. Good instructors, good service, good establishment…and the best part of all…..once you get your license, if you wanna show up at 3AM and fly one of their airplanes……you can, because the FBO is open all around the clock. Just make sure you have an account on file and you’re good to go!”
